Obama Asks GOP: "Why can't we be friends?"

Loading ...OK, not exactly. Obama wasn’t asking the GOP to be friends with him, but he did ask them to work together rather than in opposition to each other.
Yes, the Democrats and Republicans are enemies, but they’re also Americans and in order to improve America, they have no choice but to work together.
Whether this speech will actually lead to any changes, we’ll have to wait and see. For now, it’s a breath of fresh air to hear and see a president try to lead, rather than just preside over the other branches of the government.
